今年 32 歲的茱莉雅卡布，畢業於布達佩斯電影學院的編劇寫作研究所，其實原先毫無演戲經驗，卻因緣際會下被導演拉斯洛相中，而從幕後跨足演員之路。早在 2015 年的《索爾之子》中，茱莉就曾以素人身分客串，飾演一位在集中營裡偷偷幫忙傳遞叛軍火藥的猶太女工。如今二度與導演合作，茱莉坦言與當年一天內收工不到 5 分鐘的戲份，彷彿天壤之別。她形容導演是超級工作狂，總是以百分之一千的心力投入電影，根本近乎走火入魔的地步。而這回在《日暮》中，一人擔當全長近 3 小時的曲折故事，獨撐大量緊跟特寫演出，對她來說是個極端的瘋狂體驗，但也感謝導演一圓她的演員夢。
《日暮》以一戰前的奧匈帝國布達佩斯為背景，從家道中落的變遷帶出大時代社會動盪，而歷史古裝劇精神成為本片精隨，不只美術砸重金打造，人物性格更要合時宜到位呈現。茱莉回顧拍攝過程，對於學習古典歐洲的情懷舉止感到非常著迷。導演特別叮嚀茱莉揣摩古人行走方式，隨時留意放慢步調，並且控制說話與情緒展現，不論多激動的劇情都必須記得隱晦壓抑地表現，以符合傳統歐洲教養的形象，讓茱莉身為現代女性感到非常訝異。
