由新加坡新銳女導演劉慧伶（Nelicia LOW）自編自導、力邀台灣、新加玻、波蘭跨國團隊聯手打造的全新華語電影《刺心切骨 PIERCE》，歷經多年的前期籌備，帶著優秀劇本巡迴世界創投會獲得肯定後，如今終於確定開拍時程，於本月14日由導演劉慧伶、監製黃茂昌、蔡瑋詩、蔡紹勇、台北市電影委員會總監饒紫娟、台中市影視發展基金會執行長林盈志、文化內容策進院內容處代處長瞿筱葳、波蘭台北辦事處處長高則叡（Cyryl Kozaczewski），以及各出品方代表，帶領主要演員劉修甫、曹佑寧、丁寧、牧森在台北自來水園區水岸停車場舉行電影開鏡儀式。為了本片最大亮點「擊劍」決鬥戲碼，所有演員與劇組人員歷時多個月密集專業訓練，做足功課準備迎接挑戰，期許籌備許久的新戲能夠順利完成拍攝。
《刺心切骨》集結台灣優秀資深與新生代演員，找來演出《複身犯》《你的孩子不是你的孩子》之〈貓的孩子〉單元的新生代男演員劉修甫，首度挑戰擔當電影主角；以《KANO》《可不可以，你也剛好喜歡我》與實境節目《全明星運動會》人氣水漲船高的新生代偶像曹佑寧；近年在矚目國片《孤味》《青春弒戀》等作表現亮眼並曾以《幸福城市》奪下金馬獎最佳女配角獎的資深女星丁寧；以及曾演出同志短片《聽不見的距離》、電視電影《討債女王》的新生代男演員牧森。4位主要演員將為這齣有關擊劍運動、謀殺、青春情感與複雜家庭關係的心理驚悚故事，增添精彩可期的表演張力。
本片以「擊劍」運動作為推動故事發展的重要元素，導演劉慧伶更曾是新加坡擊劍國家代表隊長達7年的國手，因此對專業性與真實性更加要求。籌備期間便網羅台灣專業擊劍選手與表演課老師們，為演員進行超過9個月密集的表演課與擊劍特訓，選手們更將與演員一同飆戲，希望完整呈現如真實賽事最驚心動魄的風采。導演劉慧伶對台灣情有獨鍾，不只先前兩部短片作品皆來台拍攝，這次首部長片《刺心切骨》則完全將故事背景設定於台灣，選定將於台北、桃園、台中取景，以豐富的台灣元素建構這部國際合製作品。
對於首次擔綱男主角，劉修甫坦言面對複雜心理與各角色之間的拉扯，使他在劇本工作上花很多時間捕捉，而首次接觸擊劍這項講求協調性與策略的運動，也讓他投注相當長的訓練雕琢，過程非常辛苦卻也很有趣難忘。運動員出身的曹佑寧也分享第一次接觸擊劍充滿挑戰，與棒球完全不同，而為符合劇中擊劍高手的角色設定，確實得下足功夫，表演上更首度挑戰飾演「極度可怕讓人深不可測」的神秘黑暗性格，也讓他非常期待能與其他演員擦出火花。丁寧則分享一開始接到劇本就被深深吸引，對於劇中媽媽一角產生非常高度的敬意、不確定與恐懼，更坦言這可能是她從影以來「最複雜、最壓抑、最不知道怎麼呈現的一個角色」，因此很期待看到自己以更真誠、更不表演的表演方式呈現。
《刺心切骨》由新加坡Pōtocol公司、台灣前景娛樂有限公司、波蘭Harine Films出品製作，以及文化內容策進院、元桌影藝、台北市電影委員會聯合出品，並獲得桃園市政府文化局、臺中市政府新聞局、新加坡IMDA、波蘭Polish Film Institute、荷蘭Hubert Bals Fund、泰國Purin Pictures等單位補助。透過跨國聯合製作經驗，整合各方資金與精英資源，期望能一同將優質原創故事與台灣文化原素推廣到世界電影舞台。前景娛樂2021年出品製作之電影《金錢男孩MONEYBOYS》創下入圍坎城影展紀錄，期望這回憑藉文化內容策進院與各市府單位協助，能再次挺進世界A級影展，將本片帶與全球的觀眾。
《刺心切骨》故事講述擊劍選手溫子涵（曹佑寧 飾）某次比賽因失控行為入獄，使弟弟溫子滐（劉修甫 飾）受到隊友們排擠冷落。子滐與守寡母親（丁寧 飾）相依為命，並與母親新男友試圖振作生活，因而隱瞞了大兒子入獄之事。直到子涵假釋出獄，母親決心切斷關係，心疼哥哥的子滐卻決定背著母親，暗中幫助他重返正常生活。隨著子滐與哥哥關係越來越親密，一切看似好轉，卻不料家庭關係與哥哥的情緒障礙，正醞釀著更黑暗的災難即將發生。
