2021年入圍臺北電影節「國際新導演競賽」的電影《野馬分鬃》，是坎城矚目導演魏書鈞的半自傳作品，導演以詼諧而嶄新的詮釋手法，描繪當代青年的迷惘以及面對現實的叛逆，被THE UPCOMING大讚是「「對中國當代青年癲狂又諷刺的幽默寫照」，而EASTERNKICKS更力薦《野馬分鬃》是「近年最好的中國獨立藝術電影之一」。許多影迷對這部片都期待已久，近期由前景娛樂代理發行，觀眾終於能夠在院線看到這部眾所矚目的獨立好片。
被坎城影展評審組讚譽「天賦過人」的新銳導演魏書鈞，在2018年推出短片《延邊少年》時便一舉拿下第71屆坎城影展短片競賽單元特別提及獎，導演受訪時表示「（獲獎）給了我很多的鼓勵也打開了我的眼界，看到很多好的東西，也知道了自己要努力的方向。」隨後2020年及2021年，他也分別以本片《野馬分鬃》及新作《永安鎮故事集》入圍坎城影展，五年內三度入圍坎城的傲人成績，除讓魏書鈞打平金馬獎大導賈樟柯的影展紀錄之外，也為自己打響名號。
《野馬分鬃》講述青春時期對生活感到的混沌不安，橫衝直撞的叛逆主角有一部分就擷取自導演自身的成長經驗。「《野馬分鬃》的故事其實是我混沌大學生活中的一個小章節，略有些灰色或者說蕭條的一段時間，雖然當年身在其中的我還是蠻享受的，但回頭再看卻是另一種感覺。」導演進一步說道，電影雖然看似有著荒誕詼諧的氛圍，實際上他更希望能透過這部片捕捉成長過程中的無常，讓觀眾在電影中找到一點自己的影子。
《野馬分鬃》的故事環繞著主角左坤，一個成天插科打諢的錄音科系準畢業生，在拿到駕照之後，他興高采烈地買下一臺破舊的二手吉普車，夢想著以內蒙古為背景的新戲開拍後，能駕車在草原上自在奔馳。誰料生活在此之後鳥事不斷，不僅新戲拍攝諸多不順，他還成了教授的眼中釘，與女友的戀情更是陷入僵局。左坤只得一心投奔自由，以車為馬，開著吉普車並帶上他的小跟班，朝那片嚮往已久內蒙草原駛去。《野馬》將於2022年10月14日於限量戲院上映，詳細資訊請上前景粉絲專頁https://www.facebook.com/ffe.tw/查詢。
