阿坤是影視學院錄音系的準畢業生，平時老是插科打諢的他，迫不及待要在步入社會前施展一技之長，好好幹一番大事業。拿到駕照後，阿坤興高采烈地買了台老舊的二手吉普車，夢想著以內蒙古為背景的新戲開拍後，能駕車在草原上自在奔馳。沒想到阿坤滿心期待的新戲諸事不順，劇組竟想留在北京拍草原戲、導演不過是空有理想的草包、攝影師更是瞧不起人。阿坤被劇組無情開除，緊接著更因對未來一問三不知而被女朋友甩掉。愛情與麵包雙雙落空，阿坤只得一心投奔自由。眼看無盡的荒謬鳥事快將生活淹沒，阿坤帶上他的忠實小跟班，以車為馬，駕著他心愛的吉普車一路開往內蒙古，尋找那片茵茵綠野中的自由與希望…。
